Privacy Policy
Diplomatic Immunity is made and published by Beckham Enterprises, LLC. (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you play, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a multiplayer card game, we don’t sell data, and you can delete your account yourself at any time.
What we collect
- Playing without an account. Your browser keeps a random player id and the display name you type, so you can rejoin a table. Game tables hold your name, seat, cards and moves for the length of a game; a public table log (no hands, no secrets) is kept briefly so a game can be reviewed by its players, then discarded.
- With an account. Your email address (for the sign-in link), your display name, your game statistics, and whether you hold the Diplomatic Passport. If you sign in with Google, Apple, Discord or Steam, we store the identifier that service gives us and the email it shares — never your password, which we never see.
- Purchases. Payment is handled by Stripe (web), Apple, Google, Valve or Discord; we receive a confirmation and a transaction reference, not your card or bank details.
- Technical data. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) for security and to keep the service running; anonymous crash reports; aggregate usage counts (games started and finished). No advertising trackers on the web version.
- Ads on the phone apps. The free phone editions show an advertisement between games through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers and approximate location for ad serving, subject to your consent choices and your device’s tracking settings. Passport holders see no ads and AdMob is not loaded for them.
Why we use it
- To run games between you and other players, and to let your seat, name and Passport follow you between devices.
- To send you the sign-in link and purchase receipts you ask for. We do not send marketing email unless you opt in separately.
- To keep the service secure and to understand, in aggregate, how the game is played.
- To meet legal obligations (tax records for purchases, responding to lawful requests).
Who else sees it
Only the services that help us run the game: Cloudflare (hosting and database), Resend (email delivery), Stripe, Apple, Google, Valve and Discord (payments and sign-in, on their own terms), Sentry (crash reports), and Google AdMob (ads in the free phone editions). Other players see your display name and your public moves at the table — never your email. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.
How long we keep it
Account data stays until you delete the account. Finished game tables are discarded automatically after a short period. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account from the menu in the game (Account → Delete account) — it removes your sign-in, profile, statistics and Passport immediately and permanently. Or email us and we will do it.
- Play without an account: nothing is kept beyond the game.
- Ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or to correct it.
- If you are in the EU/UK, California or another place with privacy rights, you have the rights those laws give you (access, correction, deletion, objection, portability) and we honor them on request.
Children
Diplomatic Immunity is intended for players aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13; if you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will note the new date here and, for account holders, say so in the game.
